A reception and silent auction benefiting the UW-Whitewater Student Optimist Club’s service learning trip to Burkina Faso, Africa will begin at 6:00 p.m.  Service projects include delivering an ambulance with medical supplies and equipment, building a sustainable community garden, building a computer lab, delivering educational supplies, working at an orphanage, and building a Student Optimist Club at the University of Ouagadougo. 

The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Light Recital Hall with opening artist, Nima Salami on guitar followed up by featured guest artist and guitarist, John Moulder at 8:00 p.m. 
  
The event is free to the public. 
 
John Moulder is a guitarist and composer whose music has evolved from an assimilation of various musical traditions. John is also a member of the Larry Gray trio and is featured on his recording on the Chicago Sessions label. John received his Masters degree in music from Northwestern University. As an educator, he is currently a faculty member at Northwestern University, Benedictine University and the College of the Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.
