Roberta's Art Gallery Presents: Visual Voices

Studio 84 is a non-profit art studio in Whitewater that specializes in the creative development of people with disabilities. In Visual Voices there is a wide range of abilities represented. Many of the artists had never created art until they came to Studio 84. Now their unique, hidden gifts have been revealed. Disabilities represented in this exhibit range from physical, cognitive delays, autism, Down syndrome and mental illnesses.

When presented with the challenge of creating art, the ‘dis’ in disability vanishes, and they become an artist with a voice. The artists often become more independent and relaxed, while their self-esteem and pride in themselves increase as they express themselves through art.

The reception will be held on July 10 from 2:30-4pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
